At Little Scallywags nursery, we support our children through an inclusive and nurturing ethos in a home from home setting. As highly qualified early years staff we understand the importance of great early education and are aware of how the earliest stage of learning build the foundations for all future learning. The nurturing staff foster an ethos of a home from home environment, with lots of sensorial exploration for learning and play.
Although Little Scallywags has a waiting list for our 0-2 room we continue to try our best to support all families with their childcare needs.
Here our children begin to develop a sense of self and independence. Adults support through responsive planning and daily routines, incorporating the child’s voice.
We offer Strong Start Two funded spaces available within our 2-3 room.
Play and learning within this room reflects the importance of developing the stepping stones to all future learning. Here we are focused on supporting the children to meet their early developmental milestones and ensure the skills they need for life.
We currently have spaces for children in our Pre-school room with funding offered over 50 weeks per year.
Our team are a dedicated and motivated group, all of whom are SSSC registered. At Little Scallywags Nursery we have an ethos of continued professional development, with member of staff participating in degree courses and progressing through Scottish Vocational Qualifications.
Staff meetings are a time to reflect on practice as a team, share knowledge gained on courses and through professional read and further develop the service we provide
